Our Story

Rick Potter and family

Stringtown Bar & Grill is a Florence institution — the kind of place where the regulars know your name, the breakfast is made right, and an ice cold beer is poured the second you belly up to the bar.

In 2001, internationally acclaimed Chef Rick Potter bought what was then Stringtown Restaurant and built it into the neighborhood bar and grill it is today. 25 years later, his passion for food still goes into every bowl of chicken gumbo, every plate of country ham and eggs, every Stringtown Slammer on a Friday morning.

Open Tuesday through Saturday. Regular food and drink specials throughout the week. Karaoke with DJ Roy Sharp on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Come hungry, leave happy.
